YOGA
Join us for daily yoga classes in our fully-equipped and far-infrared-heated studio. Yoga is a holistic practice that originated in Asia and encompasses physical postures (asana), breath control (pranayama), meditation (dhyana), and ethical principles (yama and niyama) along with other esoteric practices. It aims to promote physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, fostering a harmonious connection between the body, mind and spirit. Yoga is often used for relaxation, stress reduction, flexibility, strength building, and cultivating mindfulness. There are various styles and approaches to yoga, each emphasising different aspects of the practice.
Simply create your online profile HERE then go to the Classes page to view our calendar and book onto a class. All our yoga classes are 60 minutes long and we offer different levels of class, so there's something for everyone; from complete beginners to experienced practitioners. We recommend beginners start with basic or gentle classes, to understand the foundations of the practice before committing to stronger, faster-paced classes. CALISTHENICS
Calisthenics is a form of functional fitness training which utilises the body's own weight to build strength, mobility and balance through a variety of movements; from pull-ups, push-ups and squats to dynamic gymnastic-style movements. Calisthenics has exploded in popularity in the UK over the last decade due to it's accessibility as it requires minimal to no equipment. There is a heavy focus on good form and whole body engagement as opposed to isolated muscle movements which tend to be performed in a typical gym environment. Calisthenics helps to improve not only strength, but balance, mobility, endurance and coordination.
Our purpose-built, outdoor calisthenics gym at Mind Body Lab is the first of it's kind in Wolverhampton and offers a more holistic way to train. Get your vitamin D hit, your nature fix and move your body, all at the same time. The birds are our soundtrack, the elements are our connection to nature and you won't see any mirrors here, allowing you to connect to your inner space. We currently have installed a high bar, medium bar, 2 dip stations and Swedish ladder with plenty of equipment and space for floor work.
Our indoor functional fitness suite is in our conservatory where you will find plenty of equipment to keep you moving throughout the cooler months. The gym is rubber matted and fully equipped for a great calisthenics/functional fitness session with weight plates and weight belts, kettlebells, resistance bands, pull/lever stations, dip bars, parallettes, benches and plyo boxes.
We offer coached group calisthenics classes every Tuesday evening at 7.30pm, Thursday evening at 6.15pm and Saturday morning at 10am-11.15am. Calisthenics meet-ups take place on the last Saturday of each month 11.30am-2pm and are free to attend for anyone interested in the sport. You can find more about the discipline of calisthenics and keep up to date with what's on by keeping an eye on our calisthenics page.
